Joe Eldridge and Phil Southerland used FreeStyle Lite™ Blood Glucose Monitoring System, Abbott's new blood glucose meter, in the 2007 Race Across America. Joe and Phil finished first in the race as members of Team Type I, a competitive bicycle racing team composed solely of people with diabetes.
