U.S. Professional and Management Development Programs

The Professional and Management Development Programs (PDP/MDPs) are highly selective, two-to three-year rotation-based programs built around formal learning and mentoring. As a member of the program you will contribute as a functioning professional in a specific area within the company and rotate through challenging, demanding and diverse assignments.
As a participant in the PDP/MDP, you will be offered the chance to live in different cities and work at a variety of Abbott businesses in a short period of time. This experience places you in challenging assignments that draw on your technical ability as well as your professional and leadership skills. To make the most of your assignment experience, you are paired with a mentor who is an experienced Abbott leader. Your mentor assists you as you adjust to the company and required work transitions, and supports your professional development.
By changing assignments throughout the program, you will develop a sound understanding of our company and develop your leadership, technical and interpersonal skills along the way. In fact, many program graduates are now in key leadership roles with the company.
